Restore To Love - Intro

Love Or Exchange?

Everyone seems to be seeking ‘Love,’ based on the assumption that the source of Love is from outside. We are looking for someone who adores, appreciates, and accepts us; someone who is dependable, trustworthy, and kind; someone with a list of desirable qualities to offer.

When we find someone with ‘the list,’ the question becomes how can we keep that person in our lives? So, to make a fair exchange, we match up our own offers. After a few deals, we sort of know what the other party is looking for.

It doesn’t matter what we have to do, as long as the person stays in our lives. “Stay here, and don’t go away. What can I do to keep you here? Which part of myself should I take away so you will stay? No problem! I’ll remove it. The most important thing is you stay in my life.”

So, we think we know what keeps the deal going. And we are willing to do what it takes. We think this will fill the void. However, the room still ends up empty; people still come and go. We continue these relational transactions off and on. Till we say, “What is it that you really want?”

We regard love as an exchange. This is what we really write on our Valentine’s card: “We are in an exchange. I like our deals. I hope we can keep this up forever.”

At the same time, we set ourselves up for a trap. When they are not keeping up with their list of requirements, we know we are in an exchange.

Love Is A Reflection Of Who You Are

However, true love is not about what you can get. It’s about what you can give. And through the process of giving without expectation of return, you experience love in your true self. You can know love in theory, but it is through “loving your enemies,” you experience true love.

We love because it reflects who we are, the Godliness created in us. Love will never expect returns. That would be an exchange. This is the true reason we do anything. The sole purpose we think, speak and behave is ultimately to declare and experience who we are. In fact, it’s the only reason anyone does anything. The way people love reflects their self-image. Our love reflects who we think we are.

However, the person we are least likely to appreciate, to accept and to love is ourselves. If we can’t truly love ourselves, we can’t truly love others. Unless we can accept ourselves, we can’t accept others. Unless we can trust ourselves, we can’t trust others. Unless we can understand ourselves, we can’t understand others. Whatever we are not willing to give ourselves, we can’t give it to others either.

This is the reason we can’t understand God’s love being unconditional. We think love is about an exchange. So God’s love must be about exchange. Here is the deal we assume God offers, “I give you this, and you give me that. And if I am not getting it, the deal is off. And you are out of my life.”

We can’t image our love or God’s love being unconditional. However, unconditional love is the only love that is. The rest are false, fake, and counterfeit...

The good news is that God is greater than you imagine. He is Love. He is not about what He can get, but what He can give.

And, through the process of this exchange and coming up empty we realize true love is not about what you can get, but what you can give. And, through the process of giving without expectation of return, He gets to experience love in His true self. He can know love in theory. But, it is through “loving His enemies,” He experiences love.

He loves because it reflects who He is, the ultimate Godliness. Love will never expect return. That’s the only reason He does anything. The way He loves reflects His self-image, which is Love.

Some other good news is: you are made in His image and likeness; you were never created any less. This perfect Love is in you already. We simply have to restore it.

There are three steps of restoration to Love. First, you must apply the perspective of true Love to your life, as who you are. Second, you’ll naturally be drawn to Love Himself intimately, till you are in Union with Love. Finally, as you are restored to Love, you’ll reflect and experience Love in you through every life you touch.

Three Step of Restoration
1. Be Love
2. Union with Love
3. Manifest Love

Restore to Christ

Restore To Love, Truth, Peace, And Liberty
The Righteousness Of Scribes And Pharisees
The Righteousness Of The Kingdom Of Heaven
Focusing On “Doing” Never Works
Focusing On “Being” Truly Works

Restore To Love, Truth, Peace, And Liberty

A few years ago, I made a troubling observation about Christians: although the training to operate in the Kingdom of God has become readily available worldwide, many Christians are still not walking in Liberty. They may lay hands on the sick causing the blind see and the deaf hear, but their circumstances, their past, and the issues of their hearts can easily disturb their peace. They have yet to walk in the measure and the statue of the fullness of Christ.

In other words, they can operate in the gifts of the Spirit, but they have yet been able to truly manifest the fruit of the Spirit. Their traditional churches may have taught them that the fruit of Spirit in is about a to-do laundry list, a form of godliness. And if they fix their outward behaviors enough, maybe these will finally fix the inside.

I am not saying it’s bad that people are getting healed or touched by the Kingdom of God. I believe that the signs and wonders will follow those who believe. And it’s certainly glorious when the Kingdom comes! In fact, I have developed various effective trainings for gifts of the Spirit with my disciples. I admire the pioneers who dare to step out from their traditional church to pursue His Kingdom and bring His Kingdom on Earth.

However, many of these workmen’s mindsets are still influenced by the performance based mentality of Religion; they judge themselves by their performances, behaviors, and doing. And they are letting the results define them.
If they heal today, they are a healer. If they cannot heal, they are not. Or if someone’s healing results is greater than another’s, one is more of a healer than the other. If things are going well, they are peaceful. If things are tough, then are not peaceful. They are moved by the storms and waves of their lives or past.

I believe the His Kingdom refers to the gifts of the Spirit; His Righteousness refers to the fruits of the Spirit. The Spirit is that “I AM.” And who they think they are (their self-image, their spirit) will reflect on their gifts and their fruits of their Spirit.

I believe Jesus refers to His Kingdom, our power and authority, as the new wine; His Righteousness, our mindset and identity, as the wineskin.

And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine will burst the wineskins and be spilled, and the wineskins will be ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins, and both are preserved. (Luke 5:37-28)

In other words, merely having the new wine (the gifts of spirit, His Kingdom) without the renewed mindset (the fruits of spirit, His Righteousness) will not stand. We must go inward to fix the issues of our heart and renew our mindset in order to hold the pressure of having the ability to operate the Kingdom. Only then, can His Kingdom and His Righteousness be built into the full measure and statue of the fullness of Christ.

So what’s stopping these faithful Christians from walking into the fullness of Christ? It’s because they are struggling with the same issue with which Paul used to struggle. They are vigorously pursuing the righteousness of scribes and Pharisees by ‘Doing,’ instead of Jesus’ righteousness by ‘Being’ which exceeds them.

The Righteousness Of Scribes and Pharisees

Paul, the Pharisee of Pharisees, discussed the dilemma of only focusing on ‘doing':

“For the good that I would do, I do not do; but the evil I would not do, that I practice. Now if I do what I would not do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me.” (Romans 7:19-20)

In another words, focusing on “doing’ what’s right was not working out for him. And ultimately the ‘sin’ (who Paul thought he was) prevailed. Focusing on doing only brought him more condemnation and confusion. It creates negative cycles and snares. The more you ‘try’ to do good, the worse it gets.

He went into more details:

“I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good. For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man. But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.” (Roman 7:20)

Pharisees were all about “Doing”: They read and memorized Scriptures daily. They prayed everyday and fasted often. They fulfilled good deeds like feeding the poor. They went to religious congregations weekly. They obeyed all the rules and regulations of their religion. Most of them didn’t commit adultery or murder.

By any church's standards today, they’d be considered good and faithful church servants. They would be qualified to be leaders and deacons – TODAY!

The Righteousness Of The Kingdom Of Heaven

So the question is, what is the righteousness that exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees?

You must learn what’s the righteousness that exceeds the scribes and Pharisees first. Their righteousness is all about doing! However, if you observe Jesus, He’s all about ‘being”!

I am the Resurrection and the Life!

I am the Light of the world!

I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life!

I am the God, who heals thee!

I am that “I AM”!

Notice, He ‘is’ first, before He does. He doesn’t ‘do’ raising the dead, to become the Resurrection. He doesn’t ‘do’ healing, to become the Healer. He doesn’t ‘do’ lovely things, to become Love.

He is the Resurrection and Life first, and then He ‘does’ raising the dead. He is the Healer first, and then He ‘does’ healing the sick. He is Love first, and then He ‘does’ love.

In another words, the righteousness of the Kingdom of Heaven, is about ‘being.’ It’s about whom you choose to be: The Christ in you, the hope of glory!

Focusing On “Doing” Never Works

Doing “lovely” things will not restore you to “Love.” “Doing” itself never really works. “Doing” is simply the fruit, the outward manifestation of our heart. It is silly to try to force bitter fruit to become sweet, isn't it?

The reason you have undesirable ‘behaviors’ (doing), is because you have thought that you ‘are’ bad in some ways (being). You may have tried to cover it by denial, by doing good things, or by craving others’ approvals. Nevertheless, whatever you think you are, so are you. There is no escape. There is no exception.

You may not have committed adultery. You may not have murdered your brothers. You may have obeyed all the rules and regulations since childhood. Nevertheless, does Jesus really count these, or does he look at the heart (being)?

Let me tell you this, unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means becoming the righteousness of the Kingdom of Heaven. For our Father is a spirit, and He is seeking those who would worship Him in spirit and in truth. And who you are in spirit is what really counts.

Focusing On “Being” Truly Works

So, to fix a tree that produces undesirable fruit, you must go straight to the root. It makes no sense to force a bitter tree to produce sweet fruit. It makes no sense to force anyone to do forms of Godliness, but deny the power of “Being.”

There is a difference between “Doing” and “Being.”  “Being” is the root, the spirit, and the inward man of who you think you are. So, “doing” is the outward visible fruit of your spirit.

So go to your spirit, inwardly. Go to adjust who you really think you are. God has graciously given you the free will to choose.

We must be comfortable with our identity being Love, Truth, Liberty and Love, having all these terms of God, as our names.

Your level of comfort with this is a good measure of how much you have accepted your true identity.

PREFACE by Jean Miller

Once I have forgotten
Who I really am
Once I have been lost
Trapped without end

Now my eyes are opened
To the infinite horizon
Recognize the Truth of
Who I really am

We have always been One
Since the beginning of time
I have always been You
Before the world foundation

I am the light of the world
As You are
I am the Love, Truth, Peace, and Liberty
As You are

As You are
As all that You are
I am!
I am that I AM!!!!

On Yom Kippur, 2012, exactly after one year after founding the Fullness of Christ Discipleship group on Facebook, with great demands, I decided to write a book to collate our various training manuals for the gifts of spirit.

Over the year, we have developed many effective ways to activate people in the gift of prophecy, healing, word of knowledge, even faith, which is revolutionary because no other ministry that we know of can do so. By guiding people through simple steps with close discipleship, they can progress very fast to bring the Kingdom on Earth.

For example, we can active people to prophesy fluently in 3 minutes or uproot decades of people’s strongholds through our inner healing or have people getting accurate words of knowledge or have people getting consistent healing results within 7 days. And get this, we can even train people in the gift of Faith with which they can move any obstacles and manifest any results.

In time, when was time to write the book, I felt called to go away on Yom Kippur 2012 to ‘gather my thoughts.’ I thought it would be a great book because the content was so unique and effective in activating people to operate in various gifts of Spirit.

Nevertheless, something happened that changed the entire course of the book.

A quiet voice from the Father came: “Jean, without love, you have trained nothing.” The revelation came unexpectedly, and knocked me almost off the chair:
“Although you can train your disciples in the gift of prophecy, and help them to understand all mysteries and all knowledge by communicating with God directly, and though you can train them faith, so they can live the Biblical promises to ask all things and it should be given, but if you have not restored them to Love, you have trained them nothing.

You can even do all the good deeds to feed others all kind of spiritual good foods, and conduct Kingdom training day and night till burnt out, yet, if you have not restored them to Love, you have trained them nothing.”
What?

“You need to not only train them on My Kingdom, but also in My Righteousness, in order to walk in My stature as they carry the Kingdom at their hands.”

How?

“By renewing their mind to My perspective and My understanding, they will naturally have My stature, to the fullness of Me.”

I was sitting on a boat at that time, under a beautiful mountain sunset of Taiwan. I took out a few pieces of paper with a pen, using my backpack as the table. After a few pages of scribbling, some amazing outlines came out that opened my eyes wide.

Restore to Love
Restore to Truth
Restore to Peace
Restore to Liberty

And when restored to such, they are restored to Christ!
This book is about restoring. It’s NOT about adding something on you. It is about bringing out what’s already in you: “The Christ in you, the hope of glory!” Each restoration has three steps. Each step is to renew your mind as a new wineskin, so it won’t burst by new wine.

Through these revelations, I have known the Father in terms of Love, Truth, Peace, and Liberty like never before. The revelations have shoot through me like x-rays, revealing clearly what we are made of, and what we are not. I can now see above the circumstances and who I am clearly through His eyes, like never before!
The process of writing this book is a glorious experience itself. I have learned so much from it. Many times I had to stop and meditate on it for a few days. Understanding His perspectives has really helped me to walk in more of His stature: Love without reservation, Truth above all illusions, Peace regardless of situations, and Liberty without limitation.

My heart is that you will be restored more into the image and likeness of Love, Truth, Peace and Liberty through this book, as you come to know the mindset of Christ. You will truly have set your heart on the rock, where nothing can move you.

Maybe, the definition for the fruit of our ministry is not just about numbers - but the level which people are transformed into Love, Truth, Peace and Liberty.

I suppose the training manual I originally planned to write for the Kingdom will have to be another book. However, you can join our training and fellowship by searching for our Facebook group: Fullness of Christ Discipleship and requesting an invite.

You are about to embark on such a journey. And, I am excited for you because through my years of studies and searching as an educator for the most effective teaching philosophy and methods, I have found few that are quite as effective as Jean’s. A part of us knows that learning is doing. And, creating the perfect environments for encouraging this form of learning is what Jean Miller has mastered over a short period of time. She has genius in the area of organizational management and a big heart for others. I am so proud to have her as my spiritual trainer and friend.

I was fortunate to meet Jean in the summer of 2011 while in search of the God of the Bible in modern times. I had experienced such rigidity in my traditional COGIC upbringing. I had attended an Assemblies of God college in my undergraduate years and an interdenominational university for my graduate degree. Yet, after attending these Christian institutions at which I expected to grow in the knowledge of God, I found myself more distant and embittered with Christianity than ever.

I was at the point that I did not want to be known by this title “Christian” because of what I had seen and experienced at various churches, conferences and schools. I was looking for the God of love, the God of miracles and the God that was always there. But, what I found fundraisers, bigotry, fundraisers, hypocrisy and more fundraisers. And, my experience had been mostly a labor of guilt, not love.

Then, it seemed quite by chance that I ran across one of Jean’s Youtube videos (http://www.youtube.com/yhuang22) of her talking about meeting the legendary Brother Yun, the Heavenly Man, I read about whom I believed to know the God of the Bible from his accounts of heavenly intervention in his life. And, a short while after, I had connected with her on Facebook and commenced real learning, discipleship on the ways of God.

Now, you can have a taste of it. While this book will not offer you the same multidimensional learning experience as participating in one of Jean’s live training sessions would [in Fullness of Christ Discipleship Facebook group], you can still gain deep insight into the nature of things: the nature of the world and yourself. And, you will emerge from your study with profound understanding of how your thinking is shaping your world, the unfathomable love of Father God and our destiny.

I hope that you approach this book as, not just another read, but truly as the way to a life of freedom and overcoming! If I had not met Jean, I am certain I would not have been one who loves all after many hurts, truly forgives those that cause me to cringe at the title Christian, and experiences full joy at any moment because I understand life. Because of her dedication to spreading the Truth, I no longer only know God in a conceptual sense. I see Him. I hear Him. And, I speak to Him face to face.

The revelation in these pages can be the unlocking of the Truth of who God is and the start of your life of delight in Oneness with the Father.

I love you all ways,
Lis Carpenter

I have set the LORD always before me: because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. –Ps. 16:8

Restore To Christ: To Love, Truth, Peace and Liberty

This is a step-by-step manual to restore Christ in you through four areas: Love without reservation, Truth above all illusions, Peace regardless of situations, and Liberty without limitation.

Most Christians are able to walk in the spiritual gifts of Christ today, but most have yet to walk in the spiritual fruit of Christ meaning their hearts can still be troubled by circumstances even though signs and wonders follows them.

This book is a tool to renew your mind like the new wine skin, in order to hold the new wine (the Kingdom of God). It will stretch your mind to see from the perspectives of the Eternity and Infinity, which are the perspectives of Christ.

These amazing perspectives will ultimately help to complete in you the faith and knowledge of the Son of God, to be a perfect man and the measure of the statue of the fullness of Christ!
